Main Street

Fredericksburg’s Main street is the place you want to be at; it’s the center of the action. Here you can find more than 150 shops, boutiques, restaurants, galleries, pubs, and two museums.Shops in Main Street are locally operated by people that call Fredericksburg ‘HOME’. This area is the National Historic District, it runs along Main Street, and franchises and chain stores aren’t allowed. This makes your experience completely unique.

Local tips to keep your experience very ‘Cozi’:

  • We advise you to plan ahead as most shops close around 5:00 pm every day and sometimes hours may vary.
  • If a personal pit stop needs to be made, public restrooms are available at the Pioneer Museum, Marktplatz (Market Square), and at the Visitor Information Center.
  • For great FREE parking, head to the Visitor Information Center’s parking lot, located at 302 East Austin Street.
