Welcome to Der Fels, Franciscan Cottage! The Franciscan is a studio-size space, with a tranquil, electric fireplace, and an inviting courtyard and hot tub, that’s located in the “heart” of Fredericksburg's famous 290 Winery Corridor! Fredericksburg is widely regarded as one of the top ten winery destinations in the world, and there is no better vantage point for exploring all of them than while staying at the cottages of Der Fels!

The Franciscan is the original suite at Der Fels in the heart of wine country and is close to the famous Wildseed Farms, and wineries such as Messina Hof, Mendelbaum, and Grape Creek. It’s even close to Luckenbach!

The Franciscan is a limestone cottage with all the comforts of home, this charming cottage offers everything today's traveler wants, in a private setting. Enjoy the private hot tub to yourselves in a fully fenced courtyard. Or, step back inside to enjoy the large whirlpool tub or rain-head shower in the bath! Additionally, the Franciscan cottage is outfitted with a king-size bed dressed in beautiful linens, and a spacious sitting area to set the mood! Make the Franciscan your own private outpost in the Hill Country, and we’ll see y’all again soon!

**This unit is not equipped with a fully outfitted kitchen. Please plan accordingly.

Great news for pet lovers! This property is pet-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for the adventure. We want everyone to enjoy their stay, including your four-legged family member. To ensure a paw-sitive experience please be aware of the following:

Pet fees & rules:
We're delighted to welcome furry friends! This property is pet-friendly for dogs, unfortunately we can't accommodate cats at this time.
-Pet fee(s) will apply in addition to the nightly rate.
-This unit will allow one pet that is 20 lbs or under.
-Please keep your pups leashed outside and clean up after them.
-A separate pet waiver must be signed.
-Any and all damages or issues caused by your pet to a unit or furnishing will be immediately charged to your credit card on file.

Easy Check-In Process
We use Happy Guest for a seamless, app-free check-in experience. Just complete your rental agreement, ID verification, and a simple security hold (which is not a security deposit) to receive your arrival instructions. It’s simple: finish these steps, and you’re all set to enjoy your stay! Note: arrival info won’t be sent without completing these steps, and refunds aren’t possible if skipped. The cottage was very clean and accommodating. Lots of space in living area, only wish it had a coffee table of some sort. Hot tub was clean and functional, but I wish it could get hotter. I understand, they are prewired to stop at only 104 degrees! I would recommend, and stay here again.

Everything was as described, our cabin was clean, comfortable and well located. We had a great time in Fredericksburg! We did have a brief snafu, accidentally locked ourselves out of the unit, which was entirely our own fault. Cozy Vacation Rentals was extremely responsive and helped us get back in quickly. We loved staying here. It was beautiful and the space was very well thought out. If you plan on visiting a lot of wineries this is the location for you. You are within 2-5 mins of multiple winery locations that are great. Matt and Jenna were wonderful and gave us so many recommendations. It was about 15 mins from downtown so just make sure you don’t mind driving back and forth some to food locations.
