Very well organized Air B&B!! I am the type of person that expects value associated with cost and they hit it on the mark. One of the most important things to me was having a comfortable mattress and it was perfect. I slept like a baby. The house is cozy and has great flow and ambiance! It was renovated very well. The patio area was very nice and the hot tub was very relaxing! I have high expectations when I am spending a lot of money and everything was on point! I have owned rental properties for 20 years and was very impressed with the management company as well. The location was great. Only about a 10 min walk to the main strip where all the restaurants, shops, and bars are. My family and I had a great time!! Thanks!

We were very satisfied with everything this home had to offer. The bathrooms are very up to date and accessible, and we loved the backyard space (deck & hot tub). We kept having issues with the Wifi dropping signal, but we were otherwise very happy with our stay and all the amenities provided. We were traveling with our 10-month old daughter for the first time and felt very safe and comfortable. We would recommend this home highly and look forward to staying again if our travels take us back to Fredericksburg.

This is THE perfect place to stay in Fredericksburg, especially for two couples. Close to Main Street, beautifully decorated, large porch out back and a hot tub to relax in after a long day of wine tasting, hiking or shopping. The beds were comfy and the linens were so soft. Although the house is near Main Street, it was so quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

My wife & I wanted to spend a few days in Fredericksburg to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We’ve been to Fredericksburg several times before but wanted something really special. We found in this home and it more than met our expectations!

The Alcove is really a very special place. It is home that has been renovated and redone very well. Lots of amenities that made it special & very enjoyable to spend time there. About half the house is a great room with a living space, huge island/kitchen area and a bar. In the other half of the house are 2 nice bedrooms with 2 full baths. Finally, there is a gorgeous covered back porch with a wonderful hot tub along with a fire pit. Morning coffee on the porch is really special. A nice soak in the hot tub at the end of the day was perfect.

We had a wonderful visit and really enjoyed our time at the Alcove. Highly recommend it as a special place to stay

We have visited Fredericksburg many times and we all agreed this is the one we loved the best. The house arrangement and back porch is beautiful, roomy and suited the needs of 2 couples very nicely! The management group was quick to respond to our questions and needs. Only one thing we'd suggest: sticker or gripper be put on the living room rug so it's not a tripping hazard.

Great house with pretty much everything you could need. Enjoyed the hot tub and back porch. Everything is new and modern. They have thought of every convenience. The beds were very comfortable. Perfect place for 2 couples while on a get- away in Fredericksburg. Impeccably clean and well appointed. It had everything you need for cooking & had two types of coffee pots - pod & drip. Easy drive to HEB grocery store & downtown shops and restaurants. The patio was delightful: quiet, shaded & private; we enjoyed our breakfasts & happy hour there listening to the birds and watching the squirrels. The architecture and décor were on point. With temps near 100 degrees, we did not find it to be within walking distance of downtown but it was off a not-busy side street that made getting around town easy as you can avoid the traffic hassles on the main drag. Linens, towels & pool towels top quality, showers hot & water pressure strong, nice amenities - checks all the boxes.

We had such a nice and relaxing trip to Fredricksburg. This house was awesome. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The only down side was the hot tub. It probably just needs to be serviced. The water level was low, and had an odd smell.

We really liked this house. It was out of the way enough so that there weren't any crowds, while still being walking distance to shopping and dining on Main Street. The back deck and hot tub are nice for hanging out outside, and the kitchen and great room are comfortable for socializing inside. As a small warning for larger groups, saying that it sleeps 6 is a bit of a stretch. The two bedrooms with king beds are great, but the sofa bed is not comfortable at all.

Very clean and comfortable. Located close to town. Impressed with how clean and accommodating everything was for our visit. Communication with agency was easy and always ongoing. Suggestion: when listing amenities be sure to list type of appliances as example list Keurig coffee maker so your guest will know to bring that type of coffee supply or a coffee maker if more coffee is warranted. Not a big issue but informative. We will go through your agency again for sure it was a fantastic week and met our expectations. Congratulations to you and your staff! 5 stars!!!

We have stayed at many bed and breakfast places in Fredericksburg and this is one of my favorites! The house is modern, well decorated and extremely clean. Every detail was thought of and the kitchen is fantastic. The neighborhood is a nice place to walk and it is very close to Main Street. Property was as advertised, spacious living area, well decorated, clean and neat. Melissa the owner was Five star. Have closets and hangers in each BR but suggest drawers to fully unpack. Overall very nice stay.

The house was everything advertised and more. We’ve done many VRBO rentals and this was in the top 3. Great location - very short walk to many attractions. Back patio was a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy a nice glass of wine after a day of sightseeing, shopping or touring the lovely vineyards. Highly recommend this cute house in Fredericksburg. Freshly remodeled and updated this was the best VRBO we’ve ever stayed at. This was the best house rental ever!! The house is sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, top notch in every way. What a wonderful stay ! The property was fantastic. Clean , well kept, beautifully decorated with much attention to details and perfectly stocked with all essentials we needed for our stay. The house appears recently remodeled and is perfect for two couples with 2 king beds, 2 nicely appointed bathrooms and plenty of common space inside and out. The Smart TVs and Roku boxes were a convenient touch. We also enjoyed the fire pit with starter logs provided. House was very clean with nice touches such as wipes provided for remotes. An easy walk to Main Street. Melissa was super responsive and a great host. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Everything was great, the house , the location, Fredricksburg, all the restaurants, shops, weather. You couldn't ask for a better stay!! Two recommendations though, although the beds were very comfortable, they are extremely squeaky. It is a rubbing squeak and the TV's are hard to work for people who are not great with the new technology. Local stations were not found by us.

Celebrated New Year with friends! The Alcove was perfect! Just a little walk into town. Melissa was spot on with her suggestions of Restaurants and Wineries!!
Johnny Nicholes owns Hilltop Bar and Grill. On a Saturday night that place is hopping. Make a reservation by email or you will not get in.
The weather was perfect for a fire in the fire pit. Buy wood at the Chevron or H-E-B. Plus having Champagne around the fire was perfect.

I arranged this weekend at the Alcove for my sister and her friends when she turned 60. They absolutely loved the property! Melissa, the owner, was so incredibly helpful. She found someone in town who would make a gluten free cake as a surprise to have when they got to the house. They said that it was luscious. And she gave them info on restaurants and vineyards in the area along with leaving mimosa makings for them as a birthday treat. They used the fire pit, since we happened to be experiencing a rare "in the 50's" day/evening. They had a blast! Would highly recommend this home which is easy walking distance to many restaurants/coffee houses. In fact, I wouldn't mind going there myself! The only downside was the price showing on the initial VRBO page, shows one price, but then you have to add extra on for each person over 2 people even though the house is listed as sleeping 6 - 2 kings and 1 one foldout couch. But as soon as you get to that home's page, on the right hand side, it will show how much it really is, so it's not hidden once you get to that page. It's just Homeaway's sneaky way of getting you to look at a house you may not have looked at otherwise. But again, Melissa is incredibly helpful and the home is terrific.

This property is everything we wanted for the perfect visit for a charming visit to Fredericksburg. The property is so well maintained, tastefully decorated and well equipped which made our stay so enjoyable. My husband and I enjoyed our young adult children meeting us at the "Alcove" for a wedding weekend/mini vacay. It is so centrally located you can take a short stroll to shopping/City Cafe for breakfast and other top spots on Main. However, it is situated out of the hustle/bustle just enough for relaxing on the spacious and well furnished back porch or chatting around the firepit and even had a beautiful view of bluebonnets directly across the street- great photo op this time of year. We travel often and enjoy well done lodging and this did NOT disappoint. If considering booking this property- do it. Single story/open floor plan/ comfy and spacious- AND location location location too!

Older home that has obviously been completely renovated and updated. Great kitchen, living room, 2 nice sized bedrooms with 2 really nice bathrooms. The street is directly off of Main St, but just far away from the main touristy part to be nice and quiet, Nice covered deck out back with a fire pit. Nice driveway to park your car, Wish it hadn’t been raining cats and dogs or we might have used the back porch and fire pit. Loved the fact the Netflix was accessible on the television that last rainy night.

The Alcove was absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway. Felt like we were staying in a high end hotel, but with the convenience of being close to the action. The Owner was extremely friendly and provided all the information we needed for a great weekend. I would definitely book this house for future weekends.

This was a fantastic place to get away. It was right down from main street and quiet. The bed was perfect, both showers felt amazing. We spent most of the mornings on the deck watching TV, drinking our coffee and didn'twant to leave. We will be back for sure.

The Alcove was just perfect. My husband and I and another couple stayed here for the weekend. The house was perfect inside. All wonderful amenities. The king size beds were so comfortable. The back porch is to die for. The house is located at the end of the 'strip' but very easy to get in and out of and convenient to everything.

I can’t say enough about this beautiful home. The experience, from beginning to end, was perfect. Melissa was so personable and helpful. And the pictures of the home don’t do it justice! I could tell that so much time and effort was put in to every piece of decor. The beds were so comfortable and the entire house was emaculate! We are already talking about our next trip to Fredricksburg and we will definitely be staying here again!!

We spent the weekend and had a wonderful time. The house was very clean, comfortable and decorated nicely. It worked well for a short vacation with our son and daughter-in-law. Melissa was wonderful to send information about the area prior to our arrival and I appreciated how quickly she responded when I had any questions. It was an excellent experience!

Melissa is great to work with and keeps a nice place. This is almost like a new home and is very tastefully decorated. Comfortable king size beds in both b/r. Main bath has a great shower. In fact both baths have good showers. Fredericksburg is a fairly small town so everything is close by but... when Melissa says "walk to everything" she's not talking to us 70+ year olds 🙂 Has a really nice, private back deck. Doesn't have a washer/dryer but everything else is there. Highly recommend.

This house far exceeded our expectations! It's even better than it appears in the photographs. The house has been perfectly remodeled and when you walk in you think it's brand new. We absolutely LOVED the coffee bar, the beautiful Sferra towels and the AMAZING back deck. Thank you, we will be back!

Easy access to Main Street Fredericksburg. The deck is Hugh, very comfortable furniture and so peaceful. The house is newly renovated and is well stocked. I don’t know where it would go but a washer dryer combo would be great for a longer stay.

We love the area and will be back in the future. It is near downtown and has a great outdoor area. We went to the local Chevron and bought a bundle of wood and built a fire in the pit. Then popped a cork on local wine and ate some local chocolate. It was a nice evening.
The beds and showers are excellent, just need a few mixing bowls and baking pans in the kitchen!

Hi, Sharon! I appreciate your great review! Just got a set of 4 stainless steel mixing bowls to have on hand at the house. Not sure if you saw the tall, narrow cabinet door tucked between the fridge and the dishwasher (it's easy to miss), but that is where the baking pans/cookie sheets are. There is also a glass casserole dish somewhere, but it tends to move around the kitchen. Hope you had a safe trip home and we welcome you back anytime! Thanks for staying with us! -Melissa

Great Place to Stay

This place has a lot going for it. The renovated construction is flawless. Things fit, things are quiet, hinges dont squeak nor do floors, etc. The appliances and fixtures throughout are top notch. The HVAC was quiet, worked well and was simple to use. Exceptionally clean. Comfortable beds.
It is very convenient to things that we liked, among them were the things Milissa (owner) suggested, eg Pontotoc wine tasting (nice respite off Main St under the oaks), Hondos close by to Pontotoc for a louder (but not too much) atmosphere that is geared more toward beer and comfort food and that has a dance floor indoors and shaded outdoor area, 1851 Winery which is low key but nice and close. Close by is Lady Bird Municipal Park which offers some nice hiking trails and golf (which in themselves are not destinations but offer a quick qetaway and a little exercise). Also nearby is a HEB. The house is not in the middle of this busy town but close enough and is handy to Main St.
The back patio is very nice. The grill works fine.
All said this place is highly recommended even tho the price is a little "salty"
Every place is not perfect to those who rent it. We wished it had a few more glasses, filtered water and some front landscaping. Not near enough on the negative side to detract from this 5 star rating.

I sure thought I had the glasses covered with wine glasses, champagne flutes, plastic wine glasses, ToGo SOLO cups, glass high balls, coffee cups, small glass and plastic drinking glasses, even two shot glasses... however, since you didn't specify what kind are missing, I'll grab some large ice tea glasses for The Alcove since every other kind is there. I think that will about do it and I appreciate the suggestion very much. 🙂 Agree 100% on landcaping! We just happen to be planning it right now because we took out a Sycarmore tree in the front yard. The tree was dropping so much sticky stuff, leaves, balls, limbs and fuzz and guests' cars, as well as the new grass, were getting pummeled. So glad y'all had a nice time and we look forward to having you back!

Beautiful house with lots of space and every little detail accounted for. We also loved having the outdoor fire pit and tv and nice patio for early morning coffee and late night fires! Walking distance to main street and all it has to offer! Would recommend and would stay there again! We had two couples in our party and it was perfect!

We stayed here over the weekend as a family getaway and to visit a couple of the wineries. The home is immaculate and very well remodeled. It is high quality. The beds are comfortable (including the sofa-bed), and Melissa even had toiletries, extra towels, blankets, and pillows for us. We utilized the kitchen to cook breakfast and dinner each day, and it was wonderful to relax on the spacious back porch. We will definitely be staying here again!

Wonderful, completely remodeled home near main street in Fredericksburg that was absolutely perfect for two couples. We like to cook and wanted a place with a full kitchen and a gas grill. This place has a great kitchen with all new appliances, LOTS of counterspace and a gas grill in the wonderful outdoor space. It was perfect! Furnishings are slightly modern and high quality. Two spaces in the private back yard to enjoy. One under the covered porch with very nice patio furniture and another space out in the open with a fire ring for those cool evenings. Highly recommend giving this place a look if you're headed to the hill country for wine tours, live music and fine dining.

The Alcove is an absolutely fantastic place to stay! It really is as nice as it seems. Everything about this house is nice and made for a peaceful stay. It's located off the far west end of the main drag so it's close enough to walk to everything, but just far enough to be a quiet retreat.

We loved that Netflix and Hulu were readily available so we could veg when we wanted to.

I highly recommend the Alcove and hope to stay there again the next time we visit Fredericksburg!

What an amazing home, you can tell how hard they have worked on this house. Perfect area, feels like you are right at home. We had an amazing experience and really enjoyed the fire pit since it was still pretty chilly at night. I highly recommend if you are looking for something close to it all!!! Beds were all so comfortable and showers were very spa like!! Wish I could give more stars!! We loved it!

Beautiful interior and great location

The house was like new and perfect for our needs. We could have used ceiling fans on the back porch because it was extremely hot the days we were there. Also, the TV systems were complicated and difficult to understand; the owner did, however, help us with that. The owner was very nice and helpful. She was always available to us and answered any texts that we sent her. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

Thanks so much for the review! I'm glad the house made up for the hot weather in November! I know the AC works great, but we are going to install fans for the deck before the next heat wave. It's nice to be outside and Texas doesn't know if it wants to do Winter or Summer sometimes! I think the Living Room TV with the Apple TV was the only one that y'all had a problem with. It only has one remote control and I've tried to make the instructions easy to understand, but I will defintely revisit that. Netflix was already going and hitting the Back Arrow would have taken you to the search screen. There is a learning curve for sure and I hope your sweet friend got to see Dancing With the Stars! We were there for a girls weekend. The four of us really enjoyed staying here. The location is very easy to get to and close to town. Great amenities and very comfortable. As recent retirees, we needed a place to use as a home base while we explored the Hill Country area for the place we wanted to start this new chapter in our lives. That search took 3 months, and "The Alcove" was the perfect choice for that long stay. It is basically a brand new house - the existing house was completely redesigned and renovated, using top quality materials throughout. We will miss evenings on the covered deck, and strolls around the surrounding "old Fredericksburg" neighborhoods. Scott and Missy were wonderful, any question or request was handled without delay. They are a fun, hard-working couple who truly care about their property
and their clients. We will miss them and our little Fredericksburg home!

The house is beautiful. The outdoor space is even better. Huge porch with lights strung the length of the porch. Nice fire pit sitting area too. Lots of parking. Quiet street but just around the corner from Main so you're protected from street noise but get major convenience as well. Owner responded very quickly to every question and gave me lots of tips about what to do, where to go, restaurants, etc. House was immaculate. We went for a mother/daughters trip and greatly enjoyed our stayed.

Absolutely loved this house! We shared this with another couple so the open living and kitchen area worked well for us to talk, nibble, and watch TV. Melissa's house was excellent! Fully renovated - not a detail was missed! Great setup for 4 people. We had two couples, and the group agreed that if we were to do the weekend over, we would plan to cook and enjoy the great deck and outdoor space.

Melissa was such a fantastic hostess. Very responsive, she provided many excellent Fredericksburg recommendations that really steered our visit. We arrived late and Melissa had the house staged and ready for us - lamps and all!

Overall, Melissa really went the extra mile to make our stay special, and we enjoyed every minute! What a treat.
