To be honest, we didn’t like staying at the Luxury Cottage… We LOVED IT! We had a joyful Christmas at the Cozi Cabin thanks to Matt and Jenna. Everything was exactly like it looked in the listing, so clean and organized. We felt safe and comfortable. Communicating with Matt and Jenna was as if they were our own neighbors. My only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer.

This cottage was an incredible find in the Texas Wine country. Every thing we needed for a great 5 night stay. We had an issue on check in with having only 1 wash cloth. They fixed it fast. Woke up every morning to a herd (12 or more) deer outside our windows and they came back about 5 each evening. Very quiet! Very private! The only thing we wished it had was a stove and dishwasher. We like eating dinner at home in the evening and a stove would have made that easier. BUT, that said this is a place YOU WANT TO STAY!!! We are planning on going again this fall!

Just far enough outside of town that you feel secluded, but can drive 10 minutes for more wine!

This little house was VERY clean. The bed linens, the towels - super fresh and clean. Possibly the cleanest/tidiest place I’ve ever stayed. I liked that the decor wasn’t too “kitschy” - just the right amount of handmade pottery, cool art, generally contemporary country feel.

The bathtub was amazing - didn’t even realize it had jets! I spent a total of 4 hours over 2 days soaking in the bathtub, wanted to take it home with me.

Coffee and special filters for Keurig were provided, but I’d brought my own K-Cups (drank A LOT of coffee). Roku TV was super handy for logging into my own Netflix and HBO. SUPER comfy bed and pillows with plenty of extra blankets if needed. Cozy little back porch for mornings and evenings.

At first I was a little worried as the three little houses are pretty close to each other - but I had neighbors coming and going very quietly. I needed a break from work and the real world for a couple of days and this place was absolutely perfect, will definitely recommend to friends and hope to go back someday.

Had a great weekend in Fredericksburg, and had a very comfortable stay! Communication was from the Host was great, and the check in process was easy. Our cabin looked a little different than the one pictured, but it was still cute! Loved that it was a little outside of town—only about 10-13 minute drive to Main St. My partner and I enjoyed getting to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the sunset and stars that came out at night, and watch birds/deer/pollinators in the morning! Definitely would stay again.

They need to leave more then 4 towels. The shower knob is extremely hard to cut on the water. There is enough hot water to fill the bathtub once for a while. It is a very quite place and well maintained. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but probably want stay there again.

We enjoyed our time out in the country. It was a very secure cabin in a gated area. I would stay there again. However, this was the first place that we have ever stayed in where we were asked to remove our sheets before we left, take out our trash, and wash our dishes.

We had a great time at this location! It is in a great spot - 10 minutes from downtown and 20 or so minutes from Enchanted Rock. It was clean, neat, and even scenic! We had no problems getting to and from this location, checking in and out, or during the stay.

The only call out I would make for anyone looking to stay here is: in order to get here, you will need to drive up a somewhat rocky road uphill. So if you can, use a car that can handle the bumpy terrain. Not a downside at all for the location, it is just the reality of where it is.

Quaint Girls Trip Getaway!

My best friend and I came to get away from life for the weekend and we had a blast! The place was so open, airy and felt huge! It was so clean and just the space we needed for our short stay. I let them know that since we were further out of town than originally thought (15-18 mins vs 10 mins) that complimentary waters/snacks and maybe even a cheap wine would be great to offer because the nearest store is almost 20 minutes away AND the town shuts down pretty early. Overall, the AirBnB, the bed/pillows, cleanliness, great bathroom, patios, and quietness with a tv to wind down at night was awesome! Loved it all! I’d stay here again for sure!

Beautiful cottage

This is a beautiful, modern cottage with country charm. The owners are very helpful and friendly and go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable.
The bed and sheets are the best I’ve slept in! It’s very roomy and cozy with a fireplace if needed. Gorgeous bathroom!! Big spa tub and separate walk in shower was a nice touch. We brought our dog and she got a treat from the owner. The back sitting area is so nice. We grllled out and saw a few deer. The front entrance is so beautiful too with butterfly fly plants that attract Lots of butterflies.

Incredible! Long weekend get-away with my wife and we selected this property based on what we saw on-line and the reviews we read. 5 stars does not do this justice! Our stay was nothing short of amazing; Susan and Steve were wonderful hosts. check in was simple and exactly as they explained to us. Upon arrival we had a cheese board waiting for us, compliments of Susan and Steve. The location is easy to find and a short 10 minute drive from downtown Fredericksburg. The house is one of three rentals on the property; elevated on a hill with wonderful views. Running Horse is pet friendly and our two small dogs found themselves right at home. The stars at night are bright as there is no light pollution and it is very quiet and peaceful. We highly recommend. If you have a group of 6 you could easily rent all three properties and be close without being on top of one another. We will be back for sure!!!!!

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on Monday and wanted to have a nice, quiet few days. My husband found this cozy cottage online. It was perfect!! It sits high on a hill about 8 miles outside of Fredericksburg. When we arrived there was a anniversary card from Susan & Steve. So very thoughtful. The accommodations were excellent. My husband and I stayed for our 20th wedding anniversary, and had a great time! Susan left us an adorable cheese and fruit platter with crackers and chocolate to help us celebrate. The house was decorated really cute, and had everything we needed: homemade toiletries from a local shop in town, makeup wipes, plush robes, apartment size fridge, comfortable bedding, and bath salts for the jet tub. The fireplace was perfect for the chilly days! It was about a 10 minute drive to town, and the property had goats, deer, and an alpaca. We will definitely be back!

This property is perfect for a romantic getaway! High end touches make this cottage feel like a 5 star retreat. Scenic views, and a few short miles away from the hustle and bustle of town. We have visited Fredericksburg many times, and we were always hesitant to stay outside town. We took a chance with Running Horse Cottage, and we were so pleasantly surprised. The cottage was very nice with upscale furnishings, cabinets, fixtures, etc. We loved the natural setting with the fountain in the middle of three cottages. We loved seeing all the trees, the hummingbirds, cardinals, goats, cows, etc. And, we were only 10 minutes outside town. We had a fun, relaxing visit, and we loved the cottage and surrounding property. We highly recommend Running Horse Cottage for a peaceful, relaxing stay that is still within minutes of town, restaurants and wineries.

The cottage is one of three encircling a water fountain. The Running Horse is a quaint cottage with bedroom, living space and great bathroom area. Patios in front and rear. Perfect for a couple of nights away from the hustle and bustle. Property is beautiful, well managed and secure.
Only thing missing is any indoor cooking, but there is an outdoor grill.
I would recommend this to family/friends and plan on a return trip.

We were staying at Running Horse for my husband's birthday weekend. We were welcomed with a birthday card! We brought our small dog along and there was even a chewy toy to welcome him to the cottage. The location is a short drive from town but the view is amazing. We saw deer out of the backdoor. The bathroom is really nice and the jetted tub was perfect at the end of a long day. Once I arrived, the house was so lovely. Everything was perfect. I paid Attention to the welcome towel with a chew stick for my puppy, everything was clean, organized and little details meant so much.

This is the perfect weekend getaway spot for a couple. The cottage is beautiful inside and has high-end furniture and a modern bathroom. The bed and sheets were so comfortable! We had a wonderful time staying at the Cherry Mountain Cottages. The property is just beautiful and within minutes of Fredericksburg's Main street shopping, Enchanted Rock, and one of our all time favorite restaurants, Hilltop Café. The cottage was extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Susan added special touches like a cheese and grape tray, and treats for our puppies. We loved relaxing in the Spa bathtub every night and there were even candles available for us to use. Everything was perfect and you can tell the owners know how to cater to their guests. They put time and effort into providing the extra touches that make you feel pampered and appreciated. I am already planning a group trip to rent all 3 cottages for our family and friends! When I texted Susan as we were leaving, she recommended a wonderful BBQ place for us to stop at on our way back to Dallas. It was delicious! Thanks Susan!

Above and Beyond

This property was exactly what as advertised and more! Spotlessly clean and every effort had been made to make sure our stay was stress free and we had everything we needed. Extra effort was given to providing more than the minimal coffee and cream.... a variety of beverages, bottled water and toiletries were available at no charge. The bedding was soft and very comfortable, linens were above standard grade. The setting is very peaceful and quiet and the bathtub was a lovely way to end the day after touring around the area. Our hosts even checked for a special occasion and left us a cheese and fruit tray in the fridge for our arrival and personalized notes to commemorate our occasion. From the moment I booked, the owners texted me with great directions and their notebook on site had every bit of info and instruction that we would need. I will stay here again and refer others.....there are two other cabins like this one so it is a great option for several couples to join together and rent all three. The water feature is beautiful and I am sure it is stunning during wildflower season. Although it is slightly out of town, the view from the front porch is stunning in the morning-Hill Country hospitality at it's best.

We were looking for a place to relax and recharge. This cottage was perfect for us, both indoors and outdoors. The inside was tastefully decorated and very clean. My wife particularly enjoyed the jetted tub. The outside had porches both front and back. Lots of butterflies and a fountain in front, lots of space and privacy in back - both nice places to spend time. I don't think we could have picked a better place to stay. Close enough to Fredericksburg to enjoy its activities. I wish we could have stayed longer.

*Great attention to detail - they have really thought through everything you may want or need. A welcome gift of cheese and crackers, along with dog treats for our puppy, and a nice binder which provides an overview of the area and recommendations

*High quality property - Kohler and Moen faucets. Very comfortable sheets and pillows. A spa-style bathroom. DirecTV. Infrared gas grill out back.

*Nice location - 10 minutes to downtown Fredericksburg, perched up on a hill with good views and also has some nice breezes (really great in Texas summers). The only noise you will hear are the crickets at night. You might see goats or cows nearby and the property has lots of wildflowers and butterflies. Night sky is full of stars and peaceful.

I booked through the HomeAway app and its really a great tool, from researching to payment and providing all the needed details. After I booked, it had all the information organized and in one place – from check-in instructions to directions and local activities. Very helpful!

I've stayed in a few vacation rentals over the years, but this is the most well-run I've encountered.

This was our second time to stay at the Cherry Mountain Loop Cottages...And it was just as wonderful the second time as it was the first (wish we could have stayed longer). Upon arrival our cheese and crackers and fruit were waiting for us and the cottage was ready and immaculate. It is a quiet, country location with birds and butterflies, flowers and trees. We spent two nights at Running Horse Cottage. It is far enough away from downtown Fredericksburg to be peaceful, but close enough to be convenient for shopping and dining.
Beautiful location with butterflies, wildflowers, and hummingbirds! There are three cottages, but we hardly new anyone else was there. Although we spent much of our time enjoying the back roads and wildflowers nearby, the patio was great for enjoying the peace and quiet when we returned. Beautiful décor and thoughtful amenities add to the charm!

Perfect for serious astronomy or just casual stargazing

Fantastic cabins, 10 miles from Fredricksburg, and very, very dark skies.

The cottages are close enough to town that it's a quick drive to get to restaurants, shopping, and vinyards, but far enough that the only sounds you'll hear are the crickets at night.

The skies are very dark. There is a small light dome to the south from town, but the skies to the north, east, and west are nearly black. The owners are very astronomy-friendly, and have kept the property dark. There is an open field about 20-30 yards from the northern cottage that you can reach by extension cord, and we suggested putting in a power post and decomposed granite to level the field and keep the grasses down. I set up right outside the cottage, and had dark skies and great seeing most of the nights.

If you are an astrophotographer looking for dark skies with an SO who's more into town life, this is a great place for both of you to get what you are looking for. We usually have to find places in the middle of nowhere, sleep in a tent or the back of the car, drag along big batteries or even generators to power our equipment, and either leave SO's at home or take uninterested ones grumbling along. This place has what you both want - dark skies, close proximity to town, and a warm, comfortable bed to crawl into when the sun comes up.

This place is perfect. Brand new, extremely well designed and constructed. It's 10 minutes from downtown but far enough away to be in the country. No road noise, on top of a hill with a consistent calm breeze and very comfortable. Most of all, Susan and husband are very hospitable. THE COTTAGES ARE CLUSTERED IN ONE AREA BUT NOT ON TOP OF EACH OTHER.

Fantastic Find!!

My husband and I decided to take a long weekend trip and we are so happy that we found this great property! It was close enough to town (8-10 minutes) but far enough away from the overcrowded madness that can be on Main Street. The owner has thought about everything you would want in a property and more----from the high-end finishes throughout to the welcome cheese plate with crackers. There are even candles by the jetted tub! We will definitely be staying here the next time we come this way and I will be recommending this little slice of heaven to all of my friends!

We just spent a 3 day weekend at this lovely property. The owner has thought about everything you would ever need and the finishes are top notch! We loved being close to town but not in the middle of all of the tourist madness on Main Street. This is a peaceful, comfortable place that feels like a luxury hotel. Looking forward to our next visit-----this is the only place we will ever stay in the future! !

Perfect Weekend!

My wife, our 10 year old pup Chaco, and I spent Easter weekend in Fredericksburg and stayed in the Running Horse Cottage. It was perfect for us, with all the amenities we needed and more. The location is great, as it is on a lovely property, including a great patio to sit and watch the cattle across the fence. The bed was fantastic and the bath and shower were awesome, with plenty of hot water and soft fluffy towels. We had plenty of privacy, even with the two other cottages in the vicinity. Susan was very forthcoming with winery ideas, and even checked on us when Chaco went on an "adventure" alone and ended up over at her house. The cheese plate and stocked coffee bar was a very nice touch. We will definitely stay here again!

Charming Cottage with all the extras

What a lovely gem we stumbled upon on our recent trip to Fredericksburg! Cherry Mountain Cottages not only met our expectations, but fully exceeded them. Susan was a joy to work with and included all the little “extras” that make for a delightful and memorable stay. From the cheese tray and other goodies we were greeted with upon arrival, to the roll-away bed she ordered to accommodate the extra guest, Susan went the extra mile to ensure we were happy and comfortable.

The cottage itself, Running Horse, was beautifully done in all aspects, tastefully decorated to complement the rustic vibe, and offered fantastic outdoor furnishings to take in a stunning sunrise or sunset. Beds were cozy and comfortable, as well. Though I initially wanted to be directly downtown, I found the location to be peaceful and ideal; close enough to the action (8 minute drive to downtown), yet far enough way to feel removed from the daily grind. My mother enjoyed waking up with the sun, coffee in-hand, as she rocked on the porch to the sounds of the hill country.

As a discerning guest who has traveled extensively around the world, I would highly recommend these brand-new, charming cottages. Our mom-daughter getaway couldn't have been more perfect, thanks to Cherry Mountain!
