The Homestead main house, originally built in the 1880's and just one block off Main St., is a part of a stunning luxury estate which has undergone a recent total renovation. Located in the Historic District, The Homestead estate consists of two private homes (The Main House and The Carriage House) two cottage suites (The Stables # and #2) and is ideal for couples, groups, families, or friends to enjoy all of downtown Fredericksburg.

The Main House is private and has four bedrooms (two kings, one queen and two twins), three spa-inspired marble and granite baths, a large kitchen-dining room-living room, and two outdoor gathering spaces, including one with a fire pit. The 12-foot ceilings create an expansive feel to the home, but the highlight of this historic home has to be the private, underground, fully stocked wine cellar! The large driveway provides for four off-street parking spaces.

This historic and renovated 1880's home with the prime location simply cannot be beat. Being within one block off Main St. means Shops, Wineries, and restaurants area all just a few minutes walk out the front door!

The house was very comfortable and great for entertaining. We loved the electronic touchscreen pad on the wall- it was super cool. The wine cellar was a nice place to sit and visit. We enjoyed our stay there, and would rent it again. The only negatives were the front bedroom is a little noisy now because of traffic and construction going on around the house/street, and the lock on the front door didn't always work. One of our guests was locked out each night, luckily, we had another rented house and he was able to sleep there, so one of the bedrooms was unused. We've been in contact with Cozi regarding that issue, and are hoping to be slightly compensated for that issue.

This spot was perfect for our long girls weekend. The house was clean, comfortable, well appointed and very cute. Being that close to main in an older house does come with noise. We also had some rowdy neighbors in the adjoining unit, but nothing some earplugs/noise machines could not solve. It was a very walkable location. The listing was just as described.

From the time we walked into the house we fell in love with it. It is so quaint and completely updated. Close to everything in Fredericksburg and a very a walkable location. The house was stocked with everything we needed, was very clean and there were 3 of us and we enjoyed that we all had our own bathroom. We LOVED everything about staying here. It was spacious and so adorable as well as spotless and super comfortable. They were so responsive when we needed something and easy to deal with when I had a question. Plenty of towels and coffee and dishes, etc.
The house is in such a great location for shopping and we could easily walk up to Main Street and watch the Christmas Parade. Highly recommend this spot.

Lovely house. I booked this house for 5 of my girlfriends (62+ yrs) and myself and they all loved it.
Kitchen is stocked with just about everything you need and items are in great condition. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. Really, loved that they had 3 full bathrooms. We will definitely book this house again .

Nice house. Spacious. Bring coffee because the management company won’t give you any. The large coffee container was empty and I asked for some coffee. I was told what is there is what you get. Ha… ok. There is a coffee pot available.
Location is good but definitely a lot of street noise at night and in the morning. Bring a white noise machine.
Walking distance to town. The house is maintained nicely and there are plenty of rooms.

Our family enjoyed this home so much over Spring Break. Plenty of space for us, the kids and grandparents. Everyone enjoyed having their own room and bathroom. It was super clean and well maintained. So thankful we chose this place.

We cooked a few meals at the house and it would have been nice to have a couple more pans for making breakfasts.

the location was great! it was decorated so cute with a very Texas hillcountry feel. the wine cellar room was a hit!

Only one bedroom has an on suite so if you are going with multiple couples that maybe a problem. But for us it worked just fine.

Very comfortable bedding, kitchen was well-stocked (except for only 5 dinner forks), happy to have extra trash bags and dishwasher detergent provided, nice big rooms and great places to gather; We had awesome weather so could even take advantage of outdoor patio table & chairs (but not the fire pit), a basketful of throws had weather been colder. Bedrooms with storage & hangers. Be advised that because of the great location, early morning traffic sounds are unavoidable. Some suggestions from our group: kitchen towels, serving spoons, toaster, reference on website that coffee maker is not Keurig, showers are slick so floor strips/grab bar?, washcloths, clearer instruction on thermostat operation. Don't know what to call it but there is an electronic screen in the dining area with info, etc. Very highly recommend and hope to stay here again someday.

Great Bathrooms

It's difficult to find a VRBO in Fredericksburg that as more than 2 full bathrooms but it is extremely valuable when you are sharing a vacation place with others. This home has 3 full beautiful bathrooms plus 4 bedrooms. We each had our own bedroom and only 2 of us had to share the 3rd Full Bathroom. Perfection!

Our family of 6 stayed here. It was the perfect size and had great amenities for us. It was a little bit of a walk to get to the main part of Main Street for our little ones, but it was still pretty easy and kind of nice to work off all the great food in Fredricksburg! Wonderful house walking distance to all attractions on Main St. The house was more beautiful than the photos, very clean, clearly well maintained. We walked everywhere and enjoyed every second. The cellar is an amazing and unique detail - we really enjoyed ending the night with a glass of wine and sharing stories there. The team is very attentive too. 5 starts and highly recommended!

What an amazing house!!!! We initially had a larger party that was planning to travel to Fredericksburg but then it ended up just being 4 of us and we had the time of our lives!
The house was gorgeous and exceeded the expectations set by the photos.
The wine cellar was our favorite little bonus and we spend a significant amount of time down there especially since we all love to sing and do karaoke. The cellar was the perfect sound proof room that allowed us to belt out the hits without disturbing the neighbors and breaking any noise ordinances 🙂
The house was super clean and had some much space to just lounge around and drink all the great wine we acquired!
We each had out own bedrooms which were super spacious and comfortable.
There were 3 bathrooms that were all well stocked with plenty of towels and amenities and again, nice and clean and beautifully renovated.
We felt like we were staying in a modern castle and thoroughly enjoyed the house.
The location couldn't have been more perfect. We were within walking distance to tons of great little shops, cafes, restaurants, and most important of all, a great karaoke bar called The Velvet Lounge 🙂
We have a wedding to attend in Fredericksburg in February so already planning to book this amazing property again!

Amazing place! The house felt much bigger than the pictures looked. Everyone had their own space and we were quite comfortable. Walked distance to main and Hondos was the best part! Everyone also really enjoyed how comfortable the beds were!

This home is perfectly set up for the wine lover’s retreat. We enjoyed our wine whilst down in the cellar and also fireside. Morning coffee and tea on the front porch was so delightful. One note to make: If you are traveling on a busy weekend, advanced reservations are highly recommended if you would like to dine nearby. There are plenty of equally impressive local eateries within a short distance as well.

We had a mother/daughter weekend! It was perfect. The house is nice and clean and walkable to downtown shops! The street noise was a little loud so if you are a light sleeper, bring a fan or noise machine to help drown that out.

Great Location! Walk one block to Main street, then 1 mile of shops and food options on both sides of the street heading south. While we were here, stores and wineries had differing operating hours than anticipated, so we missed a few of the places we had hoped to visit. the house itself is beautifully re-finished! We loved the wide open living space and kitchen. Enjoyed mornings and early evenings relaxing on the front porch. Very nice! Thank you for a lovely visit!

First of all, the location is perfect if you want walkability to the shops and restaurants. But the house itself is just gorgeous. It was me and five friends and we had plenty of rooms/beds to sleep in. And having three full baths meant at least one was always available. The little wine room in the basement was a pleasant surprise! Just a beautiful space. Even the back yard with the fire pit is charming! Really set the bar for our next weekend rentals!

Best Friends Weekend

This is a very unique house and was perfect for our group. We are a group of 7 women who have been friends for 35 years, and we try to go somewhere once a year. This house was a great find! All of the bedrooms are good sized with places to put luggage out of the way. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are bright with pretty fixtures, but the master shower head was a little small with low pressure. The kitchen has everything that you need to cook a meal. We used the small table and coffee bar to put groceries and to make a bar which left all the countertops open in the kitchen to prep and cook. The table was big enough for everyone and was great for dinner and games.

We didn’t hang out in the wine cellar - it has a bit of a musty smell. But it’s a cool, unique space. The porches are awesome and we sat outside each morning with coffee after a walk downtown. The location was great for us. It’s not in the heart of downtown but a nice 10 - 15 minute walk to get to the other end of Main Street (think Fredericksburg Brewery and Pasta Bella). So it was quiet and in a great spot.

The only negatives- we had a hard time getting in because the code didn’t work, but that was also a positive because it was fixed quickly. We were also disappointed that we didn’t know there was a fire pit outside because we would have brought wood and sat outside in the perfect weather.

We enjoyed the house so much that some of the women may rent it for their families this year. We will be back!

Incredible property close to Main St.

This property is absolutely gorgeous. Cozi Vacation Rentals was very easy to work with and extremely responsive and accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable and it has 3 bathrooms that are easily shared with a group since 2 are located off the main hallway. The underground wine room was very unique and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The location is conveniently located in walking distance of all the shopping on main and the wine tour we booked picked us up at the house so we did not have to drive anywhere! Highly recommend!

A great house to stay with three couples. Great kitchen, dining and living area. With three bathrooms, each couple could have their own. A little bit of road noise at morning rush hour but nothing we couldn't sleep through! Over all, a great stay.

This place is incredible the attention to detail is amazing. My husband is huge on the water pressure in the shower being good and there were no complaints From him! We Loved the location just one block from Main Street! The home was just like new and very clean. street was nice and quiet. Highly recommend
